This popular and well illustrated guide has now been totally revised and updated. It describes 20 enjoyable walks from places along the whole length of the route from Shrewsbury to Swansea. For the first time it includes some town trails and is suitable for all abilities.

Swansea

Rhossili to Penmaen

Discover the stunning Gower Peninsula as you make your way from Rhossili to Penmaen along the Gower Way Southern Sector.

Distance 8 miles / 13 km. Average time: 4-5 hours. Strenuous.
Refreshments: Worm's Head Hotel, King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston.

Strong shoes or boots and waterproof clothing are advisable.

(Regular buses from Swansea Station to Rhossili)

Swansea

Swansea Bay to Mumbles

The walk takes you along the sea front (promenade) to Mumbles. 3-4 miles.
Start your journey at the Dylan Thomas Centre and follow the promenade west along the route of the world's first passenger railway for spectacular views across the bay to Mumbles Head and, eventually, the pretty town of Mumbles itself. Finish gazing back on the whole route from Mumbles pier.

The Riverside Walk

From the Station you can follow the river path right around Shrewsbury, stopping off en route as you wish. Short, circular Route.

Knighton

Walk: Offa's Dyke Path/ Glyndwr's Way

Glyndwr's Way begins in Knighton where it links with the Offa's Dyke path. It is a well signposted 'National Trail' meandering through open moorland, farm and woodland.The total length is 135 miles, but walk as much or as little as you wish.
