Tickets


All tickets can be purchased on the train, online, via the app or at a ticket office.

Ticket offices are available at Shrewsbury, Llandrindod, Llanelli and Swansea.

STATIONS

Heart of Wales Railcard


The railcard is valid for journeys on Heart of Wales Line services between Swansea, Llanelli and Shrewsbury via Llandrindod Wells. It’s available to residents aged 16 or over in specific postcodes along the route of the Heart of Wales Line.


The railcard costs £13.50 and is valid for one year. The card holder is entitled to 34% discount on local rail travel. Up to two accompanied children aged 5-15 can travel with the card holder at a cost of £2.00 per child. There is no minimum fare. Under 5's travel free.


Railcards can be purchased from ticket offices at Shrewsbury, Llandrindod, Llanelli and Swansea.

RAILCARDS

Heart of Wales ONE DAY and TWO DAY Circular Ranger Tickets.


The Heart of Wales Circular Ranger allows you to travel along the Heart of Wales Line on a circular route over 1 or 2 days.


Heart of Wales Circular Day Ranger offers a circular journey in either direction around the circuit between Cardiff Central - Craven Arms - Shrewsbury - Llandrindod Wells - Llanelli - Swansea - Cardiff Central on Transport for Wales services. The journey can start at any station on the designated circuit. Valid over 1 or 2 days.


You can buy a Heart of Wales 1 or 2-day Circular Ranger from your local Railway station booking office. If there are no ticket buying facilities at the station where you are starting your journey, you can also buy Heart of Wales 1 or 2-Day Circular Ranger from a Conductor on board a Transport for Wales service.

HEART OF WALES RANGER

Heart of Wales Line Concessionary Travel.


If you have a Concessionary Travel Pass from a Welsh Local Authority, you can travel free on the Heart of Wales Line from 1st October to 31st March. Transport for Wales do not provide free tickets for journeys wholly between Shrewsbury and Bucknell and Llanelli and Swansea.
