Drefach Fibre Flock

Hand-made Fleece Rugs and Mats

NEAR TO

Llanwrda

Drefach Flock is a small flock of mainly Icelandic sheep that graze in the Carmarthenshire hills. They donate their fleeces to be made into luxurious rugs, mats and other fleeceware.

Felt-back Icelandic fleeces are like sheepkins but the sheep is sheared each year and I use felt to turn them into floor rugs or throws. They're sometimes called vegetarian rugs!

My other rugs and mats are made with raw, washed fleece on a peg-loom and the small ones are great for hiking trips, yoga head mats, and are particularly popular with cats ! I leave the lanolin  in so they're suitable for outdoor use. I use my own or local fleece and the mats are 100% biodegradable.
